"A Verdict Looking for Evidence": Nancy Mace Demands for Letitia James the Due Process She Withheld From Four Men She Publicly Branded Predators, Nearly Three Years Into an Investigation That Has Charged None of Them
On October 2, 2026, Rep. Nancy Mace posted that Letitia James 'doesn't get to call 7 men at Cornell guilty before her investigation even starts. That's not justice. That's a verdict looking for evidence.' In February 2025 Mace publicly branded four named men 'predators.' SLED opened its investigation in December 2023, nearly three years ago. Not one of the four has been charged, and none has been found guilty of anything. All four deny the allegations. Her standard from December 2023 reads the same way as today's post: 'Charges are not a conviction.' Her words, in order, with the public status of each man, including posts she made on her own X accounts before any charge.
Three statements by Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC-01), in her own words, with the dates attached.
October 2, 2026, on X, about someone else: "That's not justice. That's a verdict looking for evidence."
February 10, 2025, in public, about four men she named: "These men aren't just criminals, they're predators."
December 1, 2023, on X, about George Santos: "Charges are not a conviction."
Now the clock. SLED opened its investigation in December 2023. As of today that is nearly three years, about 34 months. Mace branded the four men "predators" in public more than one year and eight months ago. In all that time not one of the four has been charged, and not one has been found guilty of anything. All four deny the allegations.
This page sets her lines side by side and then lists where the four men stand today, on the public record. Maceopedia takes no position on whether any underlying allegation is true. The subject is the standard Mace announces for others and the standard her own record shows. Readers can judge.

The full text, verbatim:
"Letitia James doesn't get to call 7 men at Cornell guilty before her investigation even starts. That's not justice. That's a verdict looking for evidence.
She doesn't know sh*t yet.
Nobody does. That's what the investigation is for."
What this page does and does not say about that post. The post refers to New York Attorney General Letitia James and to "7 men at Cornell." Maceopedia has not independently verified what James said or what investigation is under way, and this page takes no position on either. The point here is the principle Mace states in her own words: an accusation should not be treated as a verdict before the investigation has done its work, and "nobody" yet knows the facts.
Her words, side by side
| Date | Her words | About | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Oct. 2, 2026 | "That's not justice. That's a verdict looking for evidence. She doesn't know sh*t yet. Nobody does. That's what the investigation is for." | Letitia James and "7 men at Cornell" | X post |
| Dec. 1, 2023 | "George Santos is an a--, who, like every other American, deserves the presumption of innocence until proven guilty in a court of law. Charges are not a conviction." | Rep. George Santos, under a 23-count federal indictment | X post (@RepNancyMace) |
| Feb. 10, 2025 | "These men aren't just criminals, they're predators. ... these predators are not untouchable. These predators are not invisible. These predators are not invincible." | Four men she named beside a poster headed "PREDATORS" | C-SPAN |
The Santos post, as published on X, reads "an ass." Maceopedia's convention is to print the censored form "a--," as the outlets that quoted it did. The October 2 post censors its own profanity as "sht," and that is reproduced as she wrote it.*

In her own posts, before any charge
These are four posts from Mace's own official X account, @RepNancyMace, each about one of the men, each posted when no charge had been filed against him. For every post below, no charge had been filed at the time, and as of today no one has been convicted. The SLED investigation opened in December 2023, nearly three years ago. All four men deny the allegations. The posts are shown as X renders them, and each image links to the original post. X's embed truncates long posts, so the table gives the verbatim excerpt.

| Date | Man | Her words, verbatim | Post |
|---|---|---|---|
| Feb. 11, 2025 | Brian Musgrave | "So, Brian Musgrave, if there is no evidence, there would be no investigation." | X post |
| Feb. 11, 2025 | Patrick Bryant | "None of this is conjecture. This is not an allegation. These are the facts. In black and white. Without exaggeration. Documented." | X post |
| May 20, 2025 | Patrick Bryant | "Predator and rapist, Patrick Bryant, says he has 'never raped anyone... never hidden cameras... never harmed any woman...' 1. If you aren't a rapist, why would you film a rape and why would you be filmed raping another?" | X post |
| May 20, 2025 | Patrick Bryant | "How it started: Rapist and sexual predator, Patrick Bryant said, my 'allegations are absolutely baseless...' How it's going: Evidence of rape and filming women without their knowledge or consent for up to a decade." | X post |
Dates are U.S. Eastern except where noted. In the Feb. 11 Musgrave post she also wrote that SLED had confirmed an active investigation, which is the investigation described on this page. Neither a charge nor a conviction has followed for any of the four men.
She did not keep it to one room
The "predators" label was not a single moment. Mace named Patrick Bryant, Brian Musgrave, John Osborne and Eric Bowman on February 10, 2025, and then kept the accusation in public view. She mounted the poster of their photographs, names and home towns, headed "PREDATORS / STAY AWAY FROM," in the public corridor outside her congressional office, where, CNN reported, it stayed for weeks. She also pushed the poster out through her official social-media accounts, per our incident record, and she posted about the men by name on her own X account, as the posts above show. The record of the poster and the surrounding statements is at the "PREDATORS" poster outside her office, and the original speech is documented at the "PREDATORS" House-floor speech.
The speech was also not held back for the floor. The text of it was emailed out ahead of time, before she stood up to deliver it, and a recipient of that email has confirmed receiving it in advance. The words that named the four men were already in other people's inboxes before the House heard them.
The point is not where she was standing on any one day. It is that for more than a year and eight months, four named men have carried a public "predator" label from a sitting member of Congress, and the investigation she pointed to has produced no charge and no guilty finding.
In fairness, she has said what she relied on: she told the House she had seen "evidence of rape and the illegal filming of women and sex trafficking." The men deny the allegations, and no charge has followed. Both things are on the record.
Where the four men stand today
Every man below has denied the allegations. The record as Maceopedia has it: none has been charged, and none has been convicted.
| Man | Charged? | Convicted? |
|---|---|---|
| Patrick Bryant | No | No |
| Brian Musgrave | No | No |
| John Osborne | No | No |
| Eric Bowman | No | No |
Charged or convicted for the conduct Mace described. Every cell is "No."
The clock behind those four rows: SLED opened its investigation in December 2023, nearly three years (about 34 months) ago, and Patrick Bryant is the only one of the four SLED has publicly named as a subject. Brian Musgrave has said SLED told him he is not a target. Mace named all four in public on February 10, 2025, one year and eight months ago. Their responses: Bryant, "I categorically deny these allegations." Eric Bowman called the allegations "baseless, repugnant and defamatory." Musgrave and John Osborne deny them. Allegations referenced here are contested and the named parties deny them.
The comparison, stated as opinion
This section is Maceopedia's reading of the record, offered as disclosed-basis opinion. The basis is the three dated statements above and the dates and status in the table.
On October 2, 2026, Mace told her followers that calling men guilty before an investigation has begun is "not justice," and that "Nobody" yet knows the facts. In 2023 she said that even a man under federal indictment "deserves the presumption of innocence until proven guilty in a court of law," because "Charges are not a conviction."
Now compare the clock. When she branded four men "predators" in February 2025, the SLED investigation had already been open for about fourteen months and no charge had been filed. Today, nearly three years after it opened, there is still no charge and no guilty finding against any of them. By her own October 2 standard, an investigation is where facts are found, "Nobody" knows until it is done, and a verdict that arrives before the evidence is "not justice." Her label arrived first. The evidence she cited has produced no charge in nearly three years.
The standard she demands for Letitia James and for George Santos is the standard she did not apply to four men who deny what she said. She may well see a distinction. Some possibilities she or her supporters could offer: that a House member is in a different position than an attorney general running an investigation, that she said she had seen evidence, or that the cases differ in their facts. Those arguments are hers to make. What is on the record is the side-by-side: her own words, in her own order, with the dates, and the time that has passed.

August 3, 2026 · Dispatch"Charges Are Not a Conviction": The Due-Process Standard Nancy Mace Keeps Only for Herself
In 2023, Nancy Mace voted against expelling George Santos, indicted on 23 federal counts, because 'charges are not a conviction.' Since then she has pushed a series of men to resign, moved to expel them, or named them 'predators' from the House floor, in every case before any charge was filed, and sometimes after a prosecutor or the accuser had already declined to pursue one. When the House Ethics Committee's own report landed on her, she asked for the very due process she denies them.
October 17, 2026 · DispatchPatrick Bryant at ABC News 4: Brian Musgrave Is “Completely Exonerated”
On Oct. 16, 2026, Patrick Bryant gave a statement at the ABC News 4 studio about his friend Brian Musgrave, a day after the station reported three solicitors' letters on Rep. Nancy Mace's accusations against Musgrave. Bryant said Musgrave has been “completely exonerated of any wrongdoing” and that the allegations were “completely baseless.” Those are Bryant's words. The letters are prosecutors' reviews, not court findings. Musgrave denies Mace's accusations and has not been charged. Mace denies wrongdoing.
July 6, 2026 · DispatchPro Se: Nancy Mace has lost her lawyers again, this time in her own defamation suit against Eric Bowman
On July 6, 2026, Rep. Nancy Mace filed a Motion to Lift Stay in her own defamation case against Eric Bowman, and she filed it pro se, representing herself. On the coversheet she crossed out the entire 'Plaintiff's Attorney' block by hand, wrote 'N/A,' and wrote 'Pro Se.' The motion states she 'is now proceeding pro se in this matter, as reflected in the Notice filed June 30, 2026.' It is the second time in this cluster of cases she has gone without counsel. The three attorneys who filed and briefed the Bowman case for her, local counsel Andrew B. Moorman, Sr. and the two Washington lawyers she brought in pro hac vice, William M. Sullivan, Jr. and Alex G. Anderson, are no longer her counsel of record. A separate notice filed the same day names all three and asks the Clerk of Court to remove them. The complete eight-page motion, and the counsel-withdrawal notice, are reproduced below. Allegations on every side are contested and unproven; Bowman denies Mace's claims and has moved to dismiss, and Mace denies Bowman's.
June 30, 2026 · DispatchWas this the voyeurism Nancy Mace was talking about?
Nancy Mace posted that voyeurism is a real issue. The clearest test of what she means is her own May 20, 2025 House Oversight hearing, which she titled 'Breach of Trust: Surveillance in Private Spaces,' where she held up a poster-sized still she said showed her own body and called it nonconsensual hidden surveillance. Maceopedia asks the narrower public-record question her hearing never answered: was that a hidden camera in a private space, or footage from a room with open windows facing a public or shared space? The two are not the same factual claim, and voyeurism turns on the difference.
June 28, 2026 · DispatchIn an X thread, Mace says the amount should be higher. The public-record receipt says the earlier number was tied to photos.
After Maceopedia resurfaced the Berg-call line about '150K each,' Rep. Nancy Mace replied that the amount 'should be more' and connected the thread to 'what was done to me and others.' The public-record receipt matters because the recorded call discusses a civil lawsuit, photos, and money, not an adjudicated criminal finding.

The House rejects Mace's bid to release unproven harassment records, 357-65
On March 4, 2026, the House voted 357-65 to reject Rep. Nancy Mace's resolution directing the Ethics Committee to publicly release its records of alleged member sexual misconduct, including allegations the Committee had never substantiated. The bipartisan objection was about due process: Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said the measure was rushed and could expose both the accused and victims to the release of unproven claims, and the Ethics Committee warned it would chill victim cooperation. The lopsided vote made it the rare Mace women's-safety measure that even most of her own party would not support as written.
