Patrick Bryant is a Charleston, South Carolina entrepreneur, co-founder of software firm Code/+/Trust, and founder of Go To Team, a broadcast video production company. He has held civic leadership roles including chairman of the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, trustee of Trident Technical College, and co-founder of the Harbor Entrepreneur Center. Bryant was engaged to U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace from 2022 until the couple separated in late 2023.

What Happened

On February 10, 2025, Rep. Mace delivered a speech from the House floor in which she publicly named Bryant and three other men, alleging a range of sexual misconduct including the recording of women without consent. She stated that in November 2023, after gaining access to Bryant's phone, she discovered videos she described as recordings of "incapacitated" women. Mace characterized Bryant and the others as "predators." The speech was widely covered by national and South Carolina news outlets.

Bryant issued a categorical denial. In a public statement he said: "I categorically deny the false and outrageous claims made by Nancy Mace. I have never raped anyone. I have never hidden cameras." In a separate statement, Bryant said he would "cooperate fully with any necessary legal processes to clear my name." In a May 2025 written statement, Bryant stated that Mace made her accusations under congressional immunity and contended that witnesses had provided testimony contradicting her account.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) confirmed in February 2025 that it had opened an investigation in December 2023 after being contacted by the U.S. Capitol Police. SLED named Bryant as the subject of the investigation. As of the date of this entry, no charges have been filed against Bryant. South Carolina's Attorney General's office stated separately that it had not been provided evidence and is not involved in the investigation.

In November 2025, Bryant filed a civil lawsuit against Mace in Charleston County, alleging defamation, invasion of privacy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. According to Post and Courier reporting, the lawsuit claims Mace fabricated or orchestrated the sexual assault allegations as part of a scheme related to properties the two purchased together while engaged. Mace disputed the suit and, per her official press releases, obtained a court ruling in a related proceeding imposing sanctions on Bryant's company and attorney. That litigation is ongoing and unadjudicated.

All allegations described above originate with a public official exercising speech on the House floor and remain unproven. Bryant's denials and the absence of criminal charges are equally part of the public record.
