Mace tweet: 'I was physically accosted at the Capitol tonight by a pro-tr*ns man. FAFO.'

On December 10, 2024, Mace posted on X alleging she had been physically accosted at the Capitol by a 'pro-tr*ns man'; Capitol Police arrested foster-care advocate James McIntyre, whose charges were later dropped in April 2025.

On December 10, 2024, Mace posted on X (@NancyMace):

"I was physically accosted at the Capitol tonight by a pro-trns man. One new brace for my wrist and some ice for my arm and it'll heal just fine. The Capitol police arrested the guy. Your trns violence and threats on my life will only make me double down. FAFO. #HoldTheLine"

Capitol Police arrested foster-care advocate James McIntyre, who was identified in news reporting in connection with the incident; prosecutors dropped all charges against him in April 2025, and he was never convicted of, or found to have committed, any assault.
