"If you think your child is trans, your child should be removed from your home to safety": Mace's July 26 post

It is one of a cluster of Mace statements about transgender people posted across late July 2026, and sits atop a record that runs from her November 2024 Capitol bathroom resolution through her September 2025 'straitjacket' remarks.

The pattern this post fits
The July 26 post is one of several statements Mace made about transgender people in a single stretch of late July 2026, and it sits on top of a multi-year record. In her own words, dated:
- July 21, 2026: at a House Oversight hearing, questioning Smithsonian museum director Dr. Anthea Hartig, “So when was your gender revealed to you, Dr. Hartig?”
- July 23, 2026: on X, sharing a Fox News segment, "The Smithsonian National Museum of American History has drag queens on display in front of children and a glossary telling visitors other countries recognize three or more genders."
- July 27, 2026: on X, "In no world should children ever be taught their genitalia is 'removable.'"
Earlier entries in the same record include her November 2024 resolution barring transgender women from Capitol restrooms, introduced days before Rep. Sarah McBride's swearing-in; her February 2025 use of a slur on the House Oversight Committee record, directed at Rep. Gerry Connolly; her March 2025 "Estrogen doesn't love you" reply to a transgender person's transition photo; and her September 2025 street-interview remark that transgender people "should be in a straitjacket with a hard steel lock on it." All of these are collected, verbatim and sourced, in the transgender section of the Hate Speech hub.
The counter-record, in her own words
Mace frames her positions on gender as child- and women-protection: the July 26 post itself ends "to safety," and her supporters cite that framing and her record on women's-safety legislation. Her critics note that in 2022 she voted for the Respect for Marriage Act, which codified federal recognition of same-sex marriages, three years before her 2025 "Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve" campaign post. Maceopedia presents her protective framing and that contrast side by side, adopting neither.
What this touches, and who has said what
Removing a child from a home over the child's transgender identity runs opposite to the stated position of major U.S. medical associations, which support age-appropriate gender-affirming care, and of LGBTQ advocacy groups. It also inverts the direction of a 2022 directive by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who ordered his state to investigate families that provide gender-affirming care to minors as child abuse: Mace's post treats the affirming home, rather than the care, as the danger. On her earlier "straitjacket" comments, the Congressional Equality Caucus said Mace and Rep. Ronny Jackson were "calling for transgender people to be locked up against their will and institutionalized." Maceopedia attributes each of these characterizations to the body or official that made it and takes no position of its own; the verbatim post is above, and readers can judge.
