"I want a man who looks at me the way white liberal women look at invaders who jerk off on beaches in front of kids": Mace's August 3 post
On August 3, 2026, Rep. Nancy Mace, a lame-duck member of Congress who finished last in the June 2026 Republican primary for South Carolina governor and leaves the House in January 2027, posted on her personal X account, @NancyMace: 'I want a man who looks at me the way white liberal women look at invaders who jerk off on beaches in front of kids.' She attached a photograph of a woman in a bikini reaching toward a shirtless man, with no source given. The post drew roughly 26,700 likes and more than 1,100 replies in a sharply divided response: a large bloc echoed it, while a substantial share, several on verified accounts, called it racist and beneath a member of Congress, and a recurring thread disputed the photo as misattributed or digitally altered. This dispatch reproduces the post in her own words, embeds it, and records the reaction.

The post drew roughly 26,700 likes and more than 1,100 replies. It uses "invaders" as a term for migrants, a word Mace has used before in posts about immigration.
Mace is a lame-duck member of Congress. She did not seek re-election to her House seat; instead she ran for governor of South Carolina and finished last in the June 2026 Republican primary, which she conceded before endorsing Attorney General Alan Wilson. Her term in the House ends in January 2027.
The photo she attached
The post did not stand on the text alone. Mace attached a photograph: a woman in a pink bikini crouching toward a shirtless, hunched-over man on what appears to be a beach or street, with other people in the background. Mace offered no caption, source, date, or location for the image, and did not identify the people in it.
The reception
The post was divisive rather than uniformly cheered or condemned. Many replies echoed its framing and encouraged it. A substantial and clearly visible share, however, pushed back hard, several of them from verified and public-facing accounts, calling the post racist, "disgusting," and beneath a sitting member of Congress. One reply read, "What a disgusting thing for a sitting member of Congress to post." Another: "It's unbelievable that you ever thought for a second that you could be a governor when you think like that and talk like that out loud and on social media."
A distinct and recurring thread of replies disputed the photograph itself. Multiple users, several on verified accounts, said the image was misattributed: that it came from an unrelated incident in which the man was the victim of an assault rather than the "invader" Mace's caption implies, and that the picture may have been digitally or AI-altered. An account belonging to Newsmax host John Bachman replied simply, "Wrong story & pic." Maceopedia has not independently confirmed the photograph's origin; the misattribution claims quoted here are the repliers' own, reproduced as part of the public reaction to the post.
The pattern this post fits
The August 3 post is not an isolated one. It sits in a run of Mace statements on X about immigrants, Muslims, and minority members of Congress, each in her own words:
- "Not all muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists are muslims" (July 27, 2026)
- Mace calls deporting "Somalia-first" Ilhan Omar the best "250th birthday present to America" (June 15, 2026)
- "One-way ticket to Somalia" (September 17, 2025)
