Her own defense
Mace has repeatedly framed statements like this one as opposition to "radical Islam" and Sharia law rather than Islam broadly. In a post tied to her Muslim Brotherhood legislation, she wrote:

She has also, at least once, publicly rejected the "religious bigot" label. In a November 2021 exchange with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene over Rep. Lauren Boebert's remarks about Rep. Ilhan Omar, Mace wrote: "What I'm not is a religious bigot (or racist)." That post is cataloged separately: Mace corrects MTG's spelling, calls herself "not a religious bigot (or racist)".

November 6, 2025: the "Stop Muslim radicals" fundraising email. A Mace campaign fundraising email carried the subject line "Stop Muslim radicals." Its body argued that "Republicans must treat the rise of Islamic radicalism as another 9/11" and claimed New Yorkers "voted to elect a man who's bringing SHARIA LAW to America," a reference to NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani. In These Times reported on the email as part of a broader look at Mamdani-related rhetoric from Mace and other Republicans. PolitiFact rated the Sharia law claim False, finding no basis for the assertion that Mamdani intends to impose Sharia law in New York City.
The Muslim Brotherhood Is a Terrorist Organization Act. Mace has also pursued this through legislation, pairing her push to designate the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization with the Sharia-focused messaging quoted above.
