Mace launches governor campaign declaring 'I am Trump in high heels' and vowing to 'burn it down to the ground'
At a Myrtle Beach town hall on August 6, 2025, Mace officially launched her South Carolina gubernatorial campaign by vowing to burn down what is broken in the state and calling herself 'Trump in high heels.'
On August 6, 2025, at a Myrtle Beach town hall officially launching her campaign for South Carolina governor, Mace said:
"I want to take what's broken in South Carolina, and I want to burn it down to the ground and build it right back up … I am Trump in high heels."
The event marked Mace's formal entry into the 2026 Republican gubernatorial primary, having announced her intention to leave her congressional seat to run for governor.

She stopped at a Wawa (AC/DC, 'If D.C. had a theme song') and a Waffle House, and arrived July 2, 2025 with the line: 'No sleep, no problem. Pink pajamas and all, we're here to pass @POTUS's Big, Beautiful Bill.' The House passed the bill the next day.

Nancy Mace whether she would hold more town halls. Fifty-four seconds after he repeated the question, she cursed at him on camera. ABC News 4 and CNN report that both used profanity. Mace says she felt threatened and harassed; Murray-Quick says he stayed at least eight feet away and that there was no aggression. Three days later she told ABC News 4 her first in-person town hall of the year was the next day.
