Part of: Staff Turnover in Nancy Mace's Office
The One Who Stayed: Nancy Mace and Her Mother
A documentary cut and a dated record of what Rep. Nancy Mace has posted and said about her mother, Dr. Anne J. Mace, set beside what was happening in her political life that week, from a 2018 letter to the editor to an Oct. 11, 2026 brunch photo. It runs her own posts, her interviews, news reports and her mother's published words, with every post dated to the Eastern day it went up and every pairing rated for how closely the two events fit. Anne Mace is a private citizen and is accused of nothing.
"She’s my been ROCK my entire life, and now it’s my turn to be hers."
That is Rep. Nancy Mace on X on June 3, 2026, at 9:00 p.m. Eastern, six days before the Republican primary for governor, over a photograph she dates to Feb. 10, 2025, when she says her mother was in the House gallery for her floor speech. She finished fifth six days later with about 12.1 percent of the vote and conceded.
The One Who Stayed: Nancy Mace and Her Mother. Every frame is a real clip or a real post, credited on screen. No narrator.
What the film shows
The film follows one thread through eight years: when Nancy Mace posts or speaks about her mother, Dr. Anne J. Mace, what is happening to Mace that week. The table below is the full dated record behind it. Each row has the Eastern date and time of the post, the post text exactly as posted (typos included), a link to the post, the gap in days, and a link to the event it is set beside. The last column says how closely the two fit. Some pairings are the same day. Some are a week apart. Some do not fit at all, and those are marked.
All post times come from the post's own ID and are shown in U.S. Eastern time. The Eastern date can differ from the date in a post's file name, which uses UTC. The June 3, 2026 post, for example, went up at 9:00 p.m. on June 3 Eastern, which is June 4 in UTC.

Where the pairing is loose
Not every post lines up with an event, and the table says so. Three cases need plain statements.
- The Oct. 30, 2025 airport incident. No post about her mother falls within a week of it. The nearest earlier post is Oct. 5, 2025, 25 days before. The nearest later post is Feb. 14, 2026, 107 days after. The film says so on screen. Mace disputes the police report and calls it a political hit job. See the airport documentary.
- The April 19, 2025 Ulta Beauty video. The next posts about her mother in the record are May 5, 2025, 16 days later, and May 9, 2025, 20 days later. Both are Teacher Appreciation Week and Military Spouse Appreciation Day posts. Neither refers to the video. Three days after the video, on Apr. 22, 2025, Mace told ABC News 4 that her parents "have been threatened." See The Man in the Store.
- Routine and holiday posts. Mother's Day, Military Spouse Appreciation Day, anniversaries and campaign mailings fall on fixed dates. Where the week held only routine political news, the row says "loose."
Other posts about her mother, mostly family snapshots, had nothing notable within a week or only a loose fit, and are not in the table.

In her mother's words
Anne Mace's own words in the record the film uses come from three places. In a March 15, 2018 letter to The Post and Courier, answering an article about Shannon Faulkner, she wrote: "Our family endured threats (delivered in person, by mail, telephone and email), personal insults, outright lies, and subtle misinformation. The level of hostility and acrimony was astonishing. Also frightening was the knowledge our Nancy was in the eye of the storm, the recipient of an even greater volume of vitriol than we lived with at home." In Mace's 2020 general-election ad, "Lowcountry Values," she appears on camera with her husband, Gen. J. Emory Mace. And in February 2026 she gave Politico's Michael Kruse her own account of what she told her daughter at 16: "I believe her, full stop, what happened to her. But I was not going to force a 16-year-old to go through that brutal process of reporting it and have it come back on her. That's being raped all over again."
That Politico account concerns the assault Nancy Mace says she suffered at 16, for which she has never named anyone. It is separate from the allegations in her February 2025 House floor speech. She accused four men. All four deny it. No charges have been filed. Civil litigation is ongoing.
Who left
The film's fifth chapter sets the same years beside the departures from Mace's office and campaign. Each item below is attributed to the outlet that reported it. Mace disputes the characterizations of former staff; the former staff dispute hers. None of this is a finding of fact.
- Dec. 2023. The Daily Beast reports that Mace fired her chief of staff, Dan Hanlon, on or about Dec. 1, 2023 (The Daily Beast). The Washington Examiner reports that two more senior staff members left the same week (Washington Examiner). No official reason was made public. See Dan Hanlon.
- Feb. 5, 2024. The Daily Beast reports that all nine staffers in Mace's D.C. office as of Nov. 1, 2023 had left. (The Daily Beast). See staff turnover.
- May 10, 2024. Mace accuses former staff of sabotage. The former aides interviewed by The Washington Post "vehemently disputed" her account (The Washington Post). Two days later she posted the Mother's Day photograph above.

What this page does and does not say
Dr. Anne J. Mace is a private citizen. She is accused of nothing and is not a party to any litigation documented on this site. This page is a record of her daughter's own public posts and statements, her mother's published words, and dated public events set beside them. It draws no conclusion about why any post went up when it did, about anyone's state of mind, or about the allegations in the Feb. 2025 floor speech. She accused four men. All four deny it. No charges have been filed. Civil litigation is ongoing. Readers can judge.

The only one still there for her. In a narrated documentary cut, Rep. Nancy Mace's own words ("I don't have any friends," and on the House floor, the bridges she was burning) are set beside her posts about her mother, Dr. Anne J. Mace, and the dated reporting on who left her office and campaign. Anne Mace is a private citizen and is accused of nothing.
October 17, 2026 · DispatchEverything Nancy Mace Has Said About Ilhan Omar
Rep. Nancy Mace has posted about Rep. Ilhan Omar more than 200 times. This documentary puts what she has said in order, in her own voice and her own posts, with Omar's answers: her 2021 defense of Omar, the 2025 one-way ticket posts, the video she recorded at Omar's office door, the censure resolution the House tabled 214 to 213, the subpoena motion the Oversight Committee tabled, and what she said on her own show the night federal agents searched Omar's home. Omar married Ahmed Nur Said Elmi in 2009; no public record shows he is her brother, and Omar denies it. Omar has not been charged with a crime.
October 17, 2026 · DispatchEverything Nancy Mace Has Said About Muslims
Rep. Nancy Mace has spoken about Muslims and Islam on television, on X and on her own show since 2021. This documentary puts it in order, in her own voice: her 2021 words that there was no room in either party for Islamophobia, the 2025 bills, the Ramadan interview on Newsmax, the summer 2026 posts, the CNN interview with Omar Jimenez on Aug. 9, 2026, her show, the debate with Mehdi Hasan on Piers Morgan Uncensored, and her Sept. 21 comments. She says she means radical Islam and elected officials, and that she does not hate all Muslims. Her defenses appear in full, beside the fact checks.
October 15, 2026 · DispatchHow the Epstein Files Ended Her Political Career
Rep. Nancy Mace says the Epstein files cost her a political career. She said it on NewsNation on July 13, 2026, in an interview with Tara Palmeri published August 30, and on Jubilee on September 6. This documentary sets that account beside the record: the 2025 discharge petition she signed, her walkout from the September 2, 2025 meeting with survivors and her post about it, the president's posts, the 427 to 1 vote, her praise of the president in 2026, the May 29 endorsement of a rival, her fifth place finish in the June 9 primary, and what she said after. The president's endorsement post names neither Mace nor the Epstein files. The link between the two is her account.

October 17, 2026 · DispatchEXCLUSIVE: Brian Musgrave Speaks to ABC News 4 After Three Prosecutors Clear Him
In an exclusive interview with ABC News 4 (WCIV), Brian Musgrave describes learning from a reporter's text, while driving to buy birdseed, that Rep. Nancy Mace had named him in her February 10, 2025 House floor speech, and what it was like to read the letters of three South Carolina solicitors. Solicitor Kevin Brackett wrote that there is “not one speck of evidence that substantiates any of the reckless accusations she made against Mr. Musgrave and that he is completely innocent of these outrageous claims.” Solicitor Scarlett Wilson wrote of “the lack of even a scintilla of evidence.” Solicitor Duffie Stone wrote that Mace offered “neither evidence nor even suspicions.” Musgrave’s federal suit against Mace was dismissed on August 20, 2025 on immunity grounds, and the court offered no opinion on whether her allegations were true. ABC News 4 reported that Mace has offered no apology. The interview is ABC News 4’s, by Madison Wilber, Oct. 16, 2026.
