Nancy Mace's 'Go COCKS!' Post Buried Under Nearly 7,000 Replies, Overwhelmingly Mockery, After Black-Lace Gamecocks Cameo
Nancy Mace's 'Go COCKS!' post from the Gamecocks opener drew nearly 7,000 replies and more than 6.6 million views, the reaction overwhelmingly mockery of the black lace, the thumbs-up, and the timing, one day after she announced her DMs are closed. South Carolina lost 41-34 anyway.

On Saturday, September 19, 2026, Nancy Mace attended the University of South Carolina Gamecocks' first SEC game of the season. She wore black lace. She gave a thumbs-up in a packed Williams-Brice Stadium. She posted to X:
"Go COCKS!"
She followed immediately with a second post:
"IYKYK"
The reaction was immediate and overwhelmingly negative. The post drew nearly 7,000 replies and more than 6.6 million views, the replies running heavily to mockery of the outfit, the thumbs-up, and the timing.
"IYKYK", What It Meant and Why It Made Everything Worse
IYKYK stands for "If You Know You Know."
After posting "Go COCKS!" in all caps with a thumbs-up, Mace added that phrase as a separate post. For South Carolinians, "Go Cocks" is the Gamecocks' actual school cheer, a reference to their mascot, the fighting rooster. The cheer is genuine. The school has been using it for generations.
The problem is IYKYK.
When you post a phrase with an obvious double meaning and immediately follow it with "If You Know You Know," you are not maintaining deniability. You are winking at the people who know, and telling the rest to figure it out. The capital letters, the black lace, the thumbs-up, and then IYKYK in sequence is a choice. It is a content creator move, not a football fan move.
The internet saw what she was doing. What happened next was 5,000+ replies, a top comment calling her behavior infantile, a prominent MAGA influencer calling her a joke, and Mace herself posting a defense that introduced the word "whore" into the conversation.
The Replies: All 20 Highest-Engagement Text Comments
The tweet drew more than 5,000 replies. Here are the 20 top text responses by engagement, pulled from the live thread. Mace's own "IYKYK" follow-up collected 4,358 likes, the most-liked item in the thread. Among responses to her:

Her Defense
Mace posted a formal clarification:
"A woman cheering on a football team w their school chant GO COCKS does not make a woman a whore."
And separately:
"Now women can't cheer for a football team using their football chant at a football game."
And then, apparently surveying the full situation:
"Sigh. Where do I start?"
She explained when pressed that "Go Cocks" is the University of South Carolina's official rally cry, a reference to its Gamecocks mascot, the fighting rooster. The cheer is genuine. The black lace, the thumbs-up, the capital letters, the "IYKYK," the timing against her own DM announcement, and the word "whore" appearing in her own defense were all Mace's own choices.
The Timing
The Gamecocks post went up September 19. The day before, Mace had announced to TMZ:
"My DMs are CLOSED."
She elaborated on what had been landing in those messages: "Sometimes, and that's nasty." She said she turned down everyone who approached her regardless of political party. She said she "might never date again." She said yes when asked if that meant staying single forever.
Twenty-four hours later: black lace. "Go COCKS." "IYKYK."
The Game
South Carolina was hosting Mississippi State in its SEC opener. After a lightning delay pushed kickoff by an hour and twenty minutes, Mississippi State quarterback Kamario Taylor threw for 251 yards and four touchdowns. The Bulldogs won 41-34. South Carolina dropped to 2-1 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
Mace attended. Mace posted. Mace lost.
Context
Mace finished fifth out of six candidates in the South Carolina Republican gubernatorial primary in June, giving up her safe House seat to run on a single-bathroom issue and collecting approximately 12 percent of the vote. She has since given a series of increasingly candid exit interviews, including one to Dominique Lucre in which she said: "I'm leaving Congress because I can't get shit done."
On Saturday she wore black lace to a football game, said "Go COCKS," told the internet IYKYK, and had to explain in her own defense that none of this made her a whore.

September 29, 2026 · DispatchIs Nancy Mace on OnlyFans Yet? She Just Mocked 'OnlyFans Is Empowerment' on Her Podcast. Eighteen Months of Receipts Say the Question Was Already Being Asked About Her.
On the September 28 Get Maced episode, Nancy Mace mocked 'the left' for saying 'OnlyFans is empowerment, strippers are CEOs' - introducing the line with 'Same crowd,' making clear she was attributing it to Democrats, not endorsing it. The irony: her OWN crowd has been asking if SHE is on OnlyFans for 18 months. The full record: she displayed her own nude photo in a congressional hearing in May 2025; her former aide testified under oath she tried to weaponize nude photos as real-estate leverage; she posted crop-top content that generated 'OnlyFans when??' headlines in April 2025; conservative media used her as the example of a 'springboard into OnlyFans'; a bar in her own SC-01 district circulated a parody beer can reading 'Nancy Mace's OnlyFans Soft Launch'; and four days before the episode she hosted her podcast in a leather catsuit while commenters asked about 'OnlyFans aesthetics.' She does not have an OnlyFans. Her own fans have been asking for 18 months.

October 7, 2026 · Dispatch'She Should Get the Firing Squad': Nancy Mace Asks the South Carolina Legislature to Write a Death Penalty for One Untried Woman, Then Offers the Firing Squad to Lindsay Clancy
Two minutes into her October 1, 2026 Get Maced episode, Rep. Nancy Mace says she is 'begging the state legislature to make one exception' to South Carolina's death penalty for a Spartanburg County woman who has been charged with attempted murder and has not been tried: 'She should get the firing squad. We have that here.' She then offers the state's firing squad to Lindsay Clancy, a Massachusetts defendant whose trial is pending, and to an unnamed Tennessee defendant. The U.S. Constitution bars a state from passing a bill of attainder or an ex post facto law, so a death penalty written for one named person, after the alleged act, is not something any legislature can enact. Every quote here is verbatim from her own upload, checked against the audio. The woman she names is charged, not convicted. Her children are not named. Maceopedia reaches no conclusion about any defendant and assigns Mace no motive; the words are hers.
October 1, 2026 · DispatchShe Wants the Death Penalty for Women No Court Has Found Guilty: Nancy Mace Weighs In, Again, on a South Carolina Case She Has No Role In
On October 1, 2026, Rep. Nancy Mace posted on X that she is 'praying for the firing squad' for a South Carolina mother charged in the deaths of her two young daughters: 'You kill your kids, the state should kill you. It's called the death penalty, this woman has earned it.' The woman, Justine Marie May of Ladson, Charleston County, is charged, not convicted, has not been tried, and is presumed innocent. It was the second South Carolina child-death case in two days on which Mace publicly prejudged the defendant, after her September 30 House statement on a Spartanburg case ('This is not mental. This is criminal.') and one day after Lindsay Clancy's defense lawyer named her in a Massachusetts courtroom. Mace holds no charging, prosecuting, judging, or sentencing role in any of the three. Nothing here is a finding about any defendant's guilt or mental state, and nothing here assigns Mace a motive. The words are hers, in order. Readers can draw their own conclusions.

On October 9, 2026, Candace Owens played a clip of Nancy Mace on her show, calling it 'objectively hilarious.' In the clip, as Owens aired it, Mace says: 'Every time you call a friend, like, hey, do you want to hang out? They're like, no, I'm just, I have plans to kill my kids tonight. What?' At noon Mace posted the clip herself and wrote: 'There is absolutely NOTHING funny about dead children... Is this a cry for help?' At 3:30 PM Owens answered with a screenshot of an ABC News 4 report on a lawsuit against Mace and an insult in her own voice. At 5:03 PM Mace posted a line drawing of a woman drawn as Owens licking a hairless cat, with the words 'Candy - this you?'
