On July 29, 2021, Mace posted a video of herself walking maskless through the Capitol:
"Madam Speaker, your insane power grab is showing. Today I'm not wearing a mask outside of the chamber b/c I follow science — not Pelosi. Come and get me."
The post dared Speaker Pelosi to enforce the CDC-recommended indoor mask mandate that had just been reinstated in the Capitol amid the Delta variant surge.
