'Advice, tips, hacks?': Mace's 'week 4' carnivore post is the newest chapter in two years of public posts about her weight, her hair, and PTSD
On July 30, 2026, Rep. Nancy Mace, a sitting member of Congress and announced candidate for South Carolina governor, asked her X followers for 'advice, tips, hacks' on the carnivore diet, 'heading into week 4.' The post drew more than 200 replies, many asking why a member of Congress was crowdsourcing meal-plan tips. It was not the first time. Since November 2024, Mace has posted repeatedly and publicly about her body: a roughly 30-pound weight loss she attributes to PTSD, a 110-pound frame, 'about half my hair' lost to what she called PTSD-driven stress, and a viral post about eating beans after an election loss. This dispatch collects those public posts, in her own words, with screenshots of each.

On Thursday, July 30, 2026, Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) posted to her personal @NancyMace account:
"Raise your hand if you've tried carnivore. Advice, tips, hacks?
Heading into week 4."
Mace is a sitting member of the US House representing South Carolina's 1st District and an announced candidate for governor of South Carolina in 2026. The post went up in the middle of a workday and, within hours, drew nearly 200 likes and more than 200 replies, a count that kept climbing through the afternoon.
Raise your hand if you've tried carnivore. Advice, tips, hacks?

Heading into week 4.
Taken by itself, it reads as an ordinary lifestyle post. But it is not an isolated one. For nearly two years, Mace has used her public accounts to narrate her own body, and to crowdsource fixes for it from her followers. The carnivore post is the newest entry in that record. Here it is, in her own words.
She has crowdsourced a health fix before, almost word for word
The closest precedent is not from a wellness account. It is Mace's own post from February 28, 2025, on her official @RepNancyMace account:
"At my haircut this morning, they said I've lost about half my hair over the last few months.
This would be due to the PTSD I was diagnosed with last year. My own trauma and the vicarious trauma I have from assisting other victims has taken a physical toll.
Anyone else have a[ny]..."
The post ended by asking her followers for their own ideas. It drew more than 19,000 likes and 5,000 replies.
The next morning, March 1, 2025, she posted the follow-up, which reads almost identically to the "advice, tips, hacks?" framing she would use seventeen months later:
"I love y'all so much. Thank you for all the ideas and suggestions. I am taking notes. Will report back!"
Two years of tying her weight to PTSD
The hair post was part of a longer run of posts in which Mace tied visible physical changes to post-traumatic stress. She has framed this herself, publicly and repeatedly.
On November 21, 2024, on @NancyMace:
"I've lost almost 30 pounds in the last 12 months due to PTSD from a deeply traumatic event. So keep mocking my looks and attacking women who've survived abuse and who wear that abuse on the inside and out."
On January 7, 2025, replying to critics:
"So does PTSD with rapid weight loss. Totally sucks."
And on January 14, 2025, during the debate over Pete Hegseth's confirmation and military fitness standards:
"I'm 5' 5.5" and 110 pounds (115lbs on my worst day). I can't carry 250 pounds."
Beans, ice cream, and the Ozempic poll
The through-line runs into 2026. On June 10, 2026, the day after her fifth-place finish in the South Carolina Republican gubernatorial primary, Mace posted an image of beans with the caption:
"Some people expect me to be eating a pint of ice cream after my loss. I have other plans."
She has also made her hair and appearance a recurring subject in her own posts. On October 16, 2025, sparring with Keith Olbermann:
"Don't tell @KeithOlbermann but not only is my hair down, I'm growing out my gray and have NO makeup on today. Gasp!"
For completeness on the diet theme: on February 20, 2025, Mace ran a public poll on weight-loss drugs. It was a policy question, not a statement about her own use:
"Do you support Ozempic (semaglutide) to help with diabetes and America's weight loss?"
The carnivore replies split in two
Back on the July 30, 2026 carnivore post, the replies fell into two camps.
One camp took the question at face value and offered the diet advice she asked for: electrolytes, magnesium and salt, variety, and, repeatedly, to just stick with it. A representative reply: "The number one piece of advice is to just stick to it. That is the hardest thing."
The other camp answered a question Mace did not ask: why a member of Congress was crowdsourcing meal-plan tips on X in the first place. Among the replies:
"I don't want tips on healthy eating. I want deep state arrests. Stop posting this and get to work. My goodness."
"Aren't you still in congress? Wtf is this?"
Variations on "do your job" recurred throughout the 200-plus replies, alongside jabs about the Epstein files and a heavy volume of personal insults. The full, unedited conversation is public at the link above.
For the record
Every statement above is Mace's own, posted publicly on her own accounts and dated. This dispatch collects and preserves them; it does not interpret her health. Maceopedia takes no position on Mace's diet, her weight, her hair, or any medical or psychological matter, and it draws no conclusion about the PTSD she has described. What is documented here is a pattern in the public record: a sitting member of Congress, and a candidate for governor, who has for two years narrated her own body to the public and asked that same public to help her fix it, most recently in week 4 of a carnivore diet.
The carnivore diet is an all-animal-products regimen that eliminates all carbohydrates, going further than keto or Atkins; the Cleveland Clinic notes it lacks long-term safety research and is not recommended by most health professionals.
