On February 5, 2025, at the same House Oversight & Government Reform Committee hearing, Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) raised a parliamentary objection to Mace's use of an anti-transgender slur. Mace responded:
"Tr*nny, tr*nny, tr*nny! I don't really care! You want penises in women's bathrooms and I'm not gonna have it. No, thank you. It's disgusting."
She repeated the slur three times on the record in direct response to Connolly's objection. The exchange was captured on C-SPAN and widely reported.
