Mace calls assassination hypothetical 'asinine,' pivots to 'How much did Bill Clinton pay off the women?'

In the same April 28, 2024 NPR interview, Mace dismissed the Supreme Court's presidential immunity assassination hypothetical as asinine, then deflected questions about the Stormy Daniels hush-money trial with a rhetorical question about Bill Clinton that NPR's fact-check addressed.

During the April 28, 2024 NPR interview, when host Ayesha Rascoe raised the Supreme Court's hypothetical about a president ordering an assassination, Mace said:

"Even the idea, the idea that a president would assassinate his opposition, is just so asinine… How much did Bill Clinton pay off the women to silence them?"

NPR's accompanying fact-check noted that the Clinton settlement Mace referenced was publicly known and widely reported, not a secret payoff.
