Peter M. McCoy, Jr. is the principal of McCoy Law Group, LLC in Charleston, SC. A former U.S. Attorney for the District of South Carolina and former member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, he served as co-counsel for U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace in the property/partition dispute with Patrick Bryant that became Mace v. Bryant.

Role in the Mace litigation

McCoy served as co-counsel alongside the Wyche, P.A. attorneys John C. Moylan and Jim May in Mace's property/partition dispute with Patrick Bryant, the underlying personal allegations are contested and denied by Bryant. His involvement included the January 8, 2024 mediation before mediator Tom Wills and continued into February 2024. McCoy's prior public service includes his appointment as U.S. Attorney for the District of South Carolina and his service in the South Carolina General Assembly.
