"We approve this message": Mace endorses the "MWGA" Waffle House meme
Mar (@Mardabadguy) answered one of Mace's Fauci posts with an AI-generated congressional "cover" that puts her in a full Waffle House uniform, hairnet, and cross earrings under the slogan "Make Waffles Great Again / MWGA." A day later, Rep. Nancy Mace quote-tweeted the meme mocking her and wrote: "We approve this message."

On August 5, 2026, Rep. Nancy Mace posted about Anthony Fauci: "For years, Americans were told to trust the science. Trust Anthony Fauci. Trust the experts. But when Fauci was finally given the chance to answer questions under oath, he pleaded the Fifth 111 times." Under the post, Mar (@Mardabadguy) skipped the argument entirely and replied with a single image.
The image is an AI-generated "official" congressional graphic. Mace stands in a full Waffle House uniform: the yellow polo, the black collar and apron, a food-service hairnet pulled over her hair, and dangling cross earrings. A name badge and the "Waffle House" wordmark sit on her chest. Along the bottom, in the exact style of a press release, is the seal of the U.S. House of Representatives and the caption CONGRESSWOMAN NANCY MACE. Across the top, in giant type, the slogan:
"Make Waffles Great Again" / MWGA
The joke rides the same rail as the rest of the Waffle House meme lane: Mace's own repeated telling of her biography as a "high school dropout turned Waffle House waitress," recast as her actual job in Congress. The MAGA-parody slogan does the rest of the work.
Mar's "MWGA" reply, posted August 5, 2026 under Mace's Fauci post.
Then she endorsed it
The twist is what Mace did next. On August 6, 2026, rather than ignore or dispute the meme made to mock her, she quote-tweeted it and answered with a four-word campaign disclaimer:
"We approve this message."
The line is the standard sign-off candidates are required to say on their own ads ("I'm so-and-so, and I approve this message"). Pointed at a meme that dresses her as a Waffle House cook, it reads as Mace formally co-signing the joke about herself. She did not correct the record; she stamped it as approved.
Mace's quote-tweet, August 6, 2026: "We approve this message."
This is the latest entry in a running Waffle House meme lane targeting Mace, and the second time she has personally played along with it. When Mar's earlier "I know where all the waffles are being cooked" image ran, she replied, "You could flip so many hash browns with this spatula." The lane also includes the "Welcome back, Nancy Mace" marquee and the "Hold the Waffle" remix of her "Hold the Line" graphic. In "MWGA," the person being mocked is once again the person amplifying it.
The posts, on the record:
We approve this message.
