"No baby, you are done", Mace cuts Pressley's mic from the chair
A supercut of two verbatim moments from the January 7, 2026 House Oversight hearing on alleged misuse of federal funds in Minnesota, Part I, Rep. Ayanna Pressley attempting to speak, and Chairwoman Mace cutting off her microphone.
On January 7, 2026, Rep. Nancy Mace chaired the House Oversight Committee hearing on alleged misuse of federal funds in Minnesota (Part I). During the hearing, Rep. Ayanna Pressley attempted to interject after her time had been called expired.
This supercut stitches two verbatim moments from that exchange, each cut from the official committee feed and captioned word-for-word:
- "Her time has expired. You're going to be great on TV. You're really good.", After another member noted Pressley's time was up, Mace dismissed Pressley's continued interjection with this line.
- "No, baby, you're not. No, baby, you're not. You are not in order. You're out of order. Goodbye. You're done.", Mace cut off Pressley's microphone and gaveled her out of order.
The two sides describe the exchange differently. Pressley and Democratic members said she was attempting to raise a legitimate point of order and was improperly silenced; Mace and Republican members said Pressley's time had expired and she was out of order under House rules. What the footage documents is a chairwoman's use of the gavel and microphone to end a member's participation.
The footage is the official committee hearing feed (a U.S. government work / public domain).

At a June 30, 2026 House Oversight hearing convened specifically to examine the CIA's MKUltra program, Rep. Nancy Mace spent roughly the first two of her five allotted minutes questioning the hearing's non-MKUltra witness about Anthony Fauci, COVID-19 origins, and vaccine side effects. When the witness told her, eight separate times, that the subject was outside her expertise, Mace told her: 'You don't know anything about MKUltra, which is the purpose of this hearing.' Only then, with most of her time gone, did she turn to the witnesses who were actually there to discuss MKUltra.
