She Called Clancy a Serial Killer. The Next Morning She Said She Enjoyed the Fight.

On September 8, 2026, Nancy Mace appeared on the "Shotgun" YouTube channel and called Lindsay Clancy "no different than any other serial killer." She defended the lone holdout juror for conviction, called a mistrial "better than not guilty," and praised defense attorney Kevin Reddington's courtroom theatrics by saying he "deserves an Oscar." The next morning she told Dominique Lucre she had been "going toe to toe with Kevin Reddington" the night before and that she "enjoyed" it.

On September 8, 2026, Rep. Nancy Mace joined the "Shotgun" YouTube channel to discuss the Lindsay Clancy mistrial. In the space of a few minutes she declared Clancy a serial killer, said a mistrial was better than a not-guilty verdict, defended the holdout juror for conviction, and praised the defense attorney's theatrics by saying he deserved an Oscar.

The next morning she told X personality Dominique Lucre she had been "going toe to toe with Kevin Reddington over the Lindsay Clancy case" the night before. "Like," she said, "I enjoy that."

"No Different Than Any Other Serial Killer"

The host opened by noting that defense attorney Kevin Reddington had attacked the lone holdout juror in open court, outing him as one of only three male jurors and placing a target on his back. Mace agreed and escalated:

"There are 11 jurors that sat in that courtroom and listened to this woman's story, knowing she murdered her children and said not guilty. And the lone juror who was holding the line against the other 11 jurors got attacked by the defense."

On the holdout juror's safety:

"This guy's going to have a target on his back when he gets out of that courtroom. And I hope that folks are praying for him tonight and this weekend and his family."

On Reddington's performance in court:

"I don't know how much money he's getting paid, but he's doing a damn good job of it. That guy deserves an Oscar."

The host offered the verdict he would have delivered himself: "If I was on that jury, I would say guilty every single day of the week, twice on Sunday." Mace replied: "Agreed."

On the chance of a retrial:

"A mistrial is better than not guilty by 12 people when a woman murdered her kids."

Then the comparison:

"Every serial killer is crazy. Every serial killer is insane. Every serial killer is mentally ill. I don't think she's any different than any other serial killer."

The Slippery Slope Argument

Mace connected the case to a broader cultural argument, ending with a claim about abortion:

"When you think about what's going on culturally, if you can murder your kids because of your hormones and men can rape women because of hormones, I mean, just the slippery slope we're going down. And it didn't take them long to go from aborting babies at 20 weeks to aborting them right up until birth. And now we can just abort toddlers when they're six."

The same segment produced a second instance of Mace claiming her children are grown:

"I have children that are grown. One day I'll be a grandma."

Court records show her younger child is 17 and in high school.

"I Got My Ass Kicked"

Later in the same recording, during a debate about trans athletes in the WNBA, the host's guest challenged Mace on her 12-percent finish in the South Carolina Republican gubernatorial primary:

Guest: "You ran on trans issues at the forefront of your candidacy for South Carolina governor and you only got 12% of the votes."

Mace: "Governor's race. Yeah. I got my ass kicked and I'm sorry that happened to you, but that's life and I'm loving that."

That is Mace, in her own words, on September 8, the same week she told Dominique Lucre she "does politics well."

The Next Morning

The day after this appearance, in an interview with X personality Dominique Lucre, Mace offered this unprompted:

"Last night, I'm going toe to toe with Kevin Reddington over the Lindsay Clancy case. Like, I enjoy that. I don't want to give that up."

Reddington is the defense attorney she praised for his Oscar-worthy theatrics the night before while arguing for a conviction. She was not defending Clancy. She was arguing for prison.

Full fact-check of the Lucre interview: Mace claimed she "does politics well." The record disagrees on every count.
