The $174,000 Ends in January: What Mace's Final Disclosure Says About the Paycheck Problem
Maceopedia ·

Buried in the plain-vanilla numbers of Nancy Mace's final financial disclosure is a question she will have to answer soon: after January, what does she live on?
Her Schedule C (Earned Income) has exactly one line:
US House of Representatives, Salary, $174,000.00
That is her only reported earned income. And it ends when her term ends, in January 2027. Mace did not seek re-election; she lost the June 2026 Republican primary for governor, finishing well back in the field. In a little over four months, the $174,000 stops.
What the disclosure leaves her to work with
Set against that expiring paycheck, the assets on the same filing are modest and mostly not spendable cash. Her disclosed holdings include a checking account ($50,001 to $100,000), a SEP IRA ($50,001 to $100,000), a Thrift Savings Plan ($15,001 to $50,000), and a whole-life/annuity policy ($15,001 to $50,000). Two of the larger buckets are retirement accounts, which generally carry taxes and early-withdrawal penalties if tapped before retirement age. The remaining lines on the report, two children's savings accounts and two 529 college-savings plans, are earmarked for her kids, not for household bills.
There is no outside salary, no consulting income, no book advance, and no podcast revenue anywhere on the report.
The plan she can talk about, and the one she can't sign
Mace has been open about wanting to work in business after Congress. On the We The Palmetto podcast in August, she said:
"I love the business space. We'll probably start some companies."
But she was equally clear about the catch. Sitting members cannot line up their next paycheck while still in office:
"Members of Congress are not allowed to sign a contract for a gig or a job until after they've left Congress."
So the companies, the commentary deals, whatever comes next, legally cannot be signed until she is out. Until then, the disclosure shows a member with one income line that is running down.
The podcast is not (yet) income
The most visible thing Mace has built toward a post-Congress living is her "GET MACED" podcast, launched with a branded studio setup in August 2026. It does not appear anywhere on her financial disclosure. There is no listed producer, no advertising income, and no subscription revenue on the report. As Maceopedia has documented, the show has been branded as a podcast without yet showing up on the major podcast platforms, and its business model remains undisclosed.
None of that is unusual for a lawmaker heading for the exit. It does mean the disclosure, read as an income document rather than a net-worth snapshot, shows a runway with a hard end date and nothing yet lined up to replace it on paper.

On its August 17, 2026 episode, The Damage Report (TYT) spent several minutes on Nancy Mace's new YouTube show, Get Maced. Host John Iadarola said 'it's definitely AI scripting' and that the thumbnails are AI. Co-host Jayar Jackson said she should 'tell Grok or whatever AI she's using to stop creating images of her with her mouth gaping wide open.' These are the hosts' opinions, not Mace's words and not findings by Maceopedia. This entry plays seven of their passages in order, with the full corrected transcript, and sets them beside the one AI-related finding Maceopedia has verified itself: a fabricated press photo in the August 12 Get Maced intro.

Thirteen minutes and 57 seconds later, in the same stream, she said 'we have almost a hundred thousand, we're getting towards a hundred thousand on YouTube.' Maceopedia's tracker had the channel at 75,400 that day. Six days later YouTube's own public display read 77K. This entry puts the two lines, the clock, and the public count side by side. Every quote is verbatim from her stream.
