Mace says George Santos's 'entire résumé in life was manufactured', then votes against his expulsion

On January 8, 2023, Mace was among the first Republicans to publicly attack George Santos's fabricated biography; eleven months later she voted against expelling him from Congress, calling it a political maneuver.

On CBS Face the Nation on January 8, 2023, Mace said of Rep. George Santos (R-NY):

"It's very difficult to work with anyone who cannot be trusted. And it's very clear his entire resume in life was manufactured, until a couple of days ago, when he finally changed his website."

Eleven months later, when the House voted 311-114 to expel Santos, Mace voted against expulsion, calling it "about shifting the balance of power in Congress" rather than accountability.
