Tim Scott
U.S. Senator from South Carolina who publicly rebuked Nancy Mace after she invoked his name during the October 2025 Charleston airport confrontation.

Tim Scott is a Republican U.S. Senator from South Carolina, first appointed to the seat in January 2013 by Governor Nikki Haley following the retirement of Jim DeMint, and subsequently elected in 2014 and re-elected in 2020. He ran for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination before suspending his campaign in November 2023.
What Happened
During the October 30, 2025 confrontation at Charleston International Airport, Mace invoked Scott's name while berating police and TSA officers, saying, according to accounts reported by multiple outlets, "You would never treat Tim Scott like this."
On November 4, 2025, Scott responded on Facebook, writing: "It is never acceptable to berate police officers, airport staff, and TSA agents who are simply doing their jobs" and "We work for them, not vice versa." Scott did not address Mace by name in the initial post but the context was unambiguous; his office confirmed to reporters that the statement was directed at the situation involving Mace.
