Ro Khanna

Rohit "Ro" Khanna is a U.S. Representative from California's 17th district, first elected in 2016. He is a member of the Democratic Party and serves on the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability.

What Happened

July 15, 2025, Khanna introduces H.R. 4405. Khanna introduced the "Epstein Files Transparency Act," legislation requiring the Department of Justice to release all unredacted documents related to Jeffrey Epstein.

Bipartisan discharge petition. When the bill faced resistance in committee, Khanna co-led the bipartisan effort to gather signatures on a discharge petition. His leadership drew support from both Democratic and Republican signers, including Nancy Mace (R-SC), Thomas Massie (R-KY), Lauren Boebert (R-CO), and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).

September 3, 2025, Survivors' press conference. Khanna participated in a press conference alongside Mace and advocates for Epstein survivors, praising Mace's efforts to bring transparency and accountability. The event underscored the bipartisan nature of the campaign.

November 18, 2025, House votes 427-1. The full House voted 427-1 to pass the Epstein Files Transparency Act. Khanna voted in favor as one of the bill's lead sponsors.
