Pamela Jo Bondi is an American attorney and political figure who served as the 45th Attorney General of the United States under President Donald Trump, beginning in 2025.

What Happened

February 11, 2026, Mace reviews unredacted files. After conducting an in-person review of unredacted Epstein files at the Department of Justice, Rep. Nancy Mace publicly demanded the immediate release of all files. Bondi, as Attorney General, was responsible for the DOJ's handling of the release.

February 11-15, 2026, Mace accuses DOJ of concealment. Mace alleged that the DOJ was withholding "terabytes of data" and millions of additional files from public release. She also accused Bondi's department of tracking which Epstein files members of Congress were opening and when, describing the monitoring as "creepy."

February 15, 2026, Mace rejects Bondi's release claims. After Bondi released a DOJ memo asserting that all Epstein files had been released, Mace publicly rejected the claim on social media, posting that "not all the Epstein files have been released" and that Bondi's excuses "will not hold up in a court of law."

March 4, 2026, Oversight Committee subpoenas Bondi. The House Oversight Committee, on Mace's motion, voted 24-19 to subpoena Bondi to testify about the DOJ's handling of the Epstein files release.

April 2, 2026, Trump fires Bondi. President Trump fired Bondi as Attorney General. In a statement, Mace said that Bondi "handled the Epstein Files in a terrible manner and seriously undermined President Trump" and that she "has stonewalled every effort to hold the guilty accountable."

Note on neutrality. Bondi has not been accused of wrongdoing in connection with Epstein. This entry records the dispute between her DOJ and Mace over the scope and speed of the files release.
