Adam Kinzinger
Former Republican U.S. Representative from Illinois (2011-2023) and now a CNN political commentator, one of Nancy Mace's most persistent public critics, who has repeatedly characterized her conduct on X, including an August 10, 2026 post calling her CNN interview on Islam evidence of 'a real mental health crisis.'
Adam Daniel Kinzinger (born February 27, 1978, in Kankakee, Illinois) is a former Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives who represented Illinois from 2011 to 2023, first in the 11th district and then in the 16th. A U.S. Air Force pilot who continued to serve as a lieutenant colonel in the Air National Guard, he left Congress in January 2023 after declining to seek re-election. He voted to impeach President Donald Trump in January 2021 and was one of two Republicans, alongside Liz Cheney, to sit on the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack. Since leaving office he has worked as a senior political commentator for CNN and founded the political action committee Country First.
