Two threat sentencings in one day: the woman who sent kill texts went home until prison. The teenager who posted one tweet sat in jail 14 months.
On July 21, 2026, both pending threat cases against Nancy Mace ended. Shayla Addison, who sent five kill texts, a bomb-threat email, and two Instagram comments and had a record of nearly identical threats, was never jailed pretrial and got 27 months. Samuel Cain, a Greenville trans teenager who posted a single tweet that agencies reportedly could not tie to any weapon or plan, had already served roughly 14 months without bond and left with house arrest, five years of probation, and a permanent internet ban. Mace posted through all of it.
