"The truth is Mace concocted an entire false narrative of an assault to blackmail Bryant, gain leverage in their separation proceedings, and try to ruin Bryant for her personal gain.", court filing, as reported by FITSNews

FITSNews reporter Jenn Wood covered Bryant's third-party complaint, filed November 2025, in which Bryant accused Mace, Melissa Britton, and a Jane Doe of conspiring to fabricate sexual assault allegations against him. According to the filing as reported by FITSNews, Bryant alleged the entire narrative was constructed to extract money and leverage from him rather than to report genuine crimes.

According to FITSNews, Bryant's filing also made pointed claims about the Jane Doe figure at the center of the alleged assault. The following passage is Bryant's own allegation as quoted in FITSNews's report:

"The only victim is Bryant. An innocent and respected businessman who has been falsely branded a rapist and voyeur by Mace, Britton, and Doe.", quoted in Bryant's third-party complaint, as reported by FITSNews

These are allegations made by Bryant in his filing and are contested; Mace disputes Bryant's account, and no court has ruled on the merits. The underlying "rapist and voyeur" characterization is one Bryant says was wrongly applied to him; it is not an assertion by this site, and no criminal charges have been filed against Bryant in connection with the original claims.

A separate passage attributed to Mace was also reported by FITSNews:

"I had to tell a woman she'd been raped, she had no idea because she was incapacitated when it happened.", from filing, attributed to Mace

Mace disputed Bryant's filing and issued a pointed response that cast the lawsuit as a financial calculation:

"It's almost as if Patrick Bryant is asking to write me another check. I just got him sanctioned in court.", Mace statement, as reported by Live 5 News

All allegations in the filing are contested. Mace denies Bryant's account. Bryant denies Mace's underlying allegations. No criminal charges have been filed against Bryant in connection with the original claims. The civil litigation between the parties is active in South Carolina courts.
