Anonymous White House officials blast Mace's Israel rescue missions as 'political gain'; Mace says she kept State informed throughout
The Guardian reported on March 18, 2026, picked up by Raw Story and WTOC, that unnamed Trump White House and State Department officials were furious at Rep. Nancy Mace over her two evacuation trips to Israel. The anonymous officials alleged she contacted the Saudi government without notifying State, asked the administration to requisition a Saudi plane for ~300 people, and urged Americans toward Jordan without secured onward travel. Mace's office said she kept State informed and that State approved the DHS plane. The dispute is unresolved and every government critic spoke anonymously.

The Guardian reported on March 18, 2026, that Trump White House and State Department officials were furious at Rep. Nancy Mace over her evacuation missions to Israel. The story was picked up by Raw Story and WTOC.
Every government official who criticized Mace spoke anonymously, no named official is on record.
According to those anonymous sources, the administration's objections were threefold. First, Mace allegedly contacted the Saudi government directly without notifying the State Department, then asked the administration to requisition a Saudi commercial plane for approximately 300 people. Second, she reportedly urged Americans to relocate to Jordan without a secured onward flight, leaving a group that State Department personnel then had to retrieve. Third, one anonymous official accused her of acting for personal political purposes:
"If members of Congress want to be helpful they should work with the administration instead of trying to exploit the situation for political gain."

Mace's account differs on every disputed point. Her office said she kept the State Department informed throughout both trips and that State approved the DHS-chartered plane that flew 155 Americans, including 11 infants, to Greece. Grey Bull Rescue founder Bryan Stern said she was "fully embedded with our team, not to watch, but to work to save lives." The evacuations she participated in are documented and not contested.

For context: Mace's trips occurred inside a broader Epstein-files feud with the Trump White House, which had endorsed her gubernatorial rival Pamela Evette. She finished fifth and last in the June 10, 2026, South Carolina gubernatorial primary.
Every government critic in the reporting spoke anonymously; no named official is on record. Mace denies acting outside proper channels. The dispute remains unresolved.
