Nancy Mace cursed at a constituent, Ely Murray-Quick, a gay small-business owner, inside an Ulta Beauty store in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, telling him "f*** you" and calling him "absolutely f***ing insane." Both parties filmed the encounter. Mace posted her own video to social media, where it reached approximately 7 million views. Murray-Quick told The Advocate he was standing 6-10 feet away when he asked her about scheduling town halls, directly contradicting her public account that he had been aggressive or threatening. Mace has disputed his characterization of the exchange.
