'Bullying me for being hot'

On March 14, 2025, Rep. Nancy Mace posted a reply to a trans woman's viral transition photo from her official congressional X account, writing "Estrogen doesn't love you." The post, which had been viewed approximately 15 million times, targeted a 23-year-old educator and social media creator who goes by "Sabre" online. Sabre responded in a widely-shared Instagram reel, saying, according to Newsweek and PinkNews, that "Nancy Mace, the current representative for South Carolina and the same person who yelled slurs in Congress is bullying me for being hot on Twitter." Mace was widely criticized by commentators and social media users for using her official government account to target a private citizen.
Context: On February 24, Sabre had posted a pre- and post-transition photo to X with the caption "God I love estrogen," in response to a viral photo-comparison trend. The post was viewed approximately 3.3 million times before Mace replied three weeks later. Per PinkNews reporting, Mace also wrote "Can we get @RobertKennedyJr on this? NO way is this healthy." The episode led to Sabre stating publicly that she was forced to move house due to doxxing and harassment.
