"I have a dog"
On a November 19, 2025 Newsmax appearance, Rep. Nancy Mace said unprompted: "I'm not part of the powerful. I'm not part of the elite. I'm an island of one. I don't get invited to parties. I don't have any friends. I have a dog." Journalist Aaron Rupar posted the clip to X; it was widely shared as a self-own.

On a November 19, 2025 Newsmax segment, Rep. Nancy Mace told host Rob Finnerty: "I'm not part of the powerful, I'm not part of the elite, I'm an island of one… I don't get invited to parties. I don't have any friends. I have a dog." The remarks came during a defense of her stance on the Epstein files, framed as a pitch against elite insiderism, though, as LGBTQ Nation noted, she is a federal elected official. Independent journalist Aaron Rupar posted the clip to X, where it spread widely as a self-own. When Rupar posted it, Mace replied, "And you thought you cooked with that too", a comeback that critics also found wanting, per LGBTQ Nation's coverage by Alex Bollinger.

The line also drew late-night mockery. On The Late Show, Stephen Colbert, a fellow South Carolinian, riffed on the admission, offering to invite her dog to his parties and landing on: "No one should have to spend that much time alone with Nancy Mace," per HuffPost's account.
