The Ilhan Omar feud
A running public back-and-forth between Rep. Nancy Mace and Rep. Ilhan Omar across 2025-2026. Omar's replies consistently drew broader attention than Mace's attacks, including a March 2026 exchange in which Omar told Mace to 'stay off social media when you are drunk,' and a September 2025 censure effort that failed 214-213 after Omar noted the resolution contained no actual quote from her.

Rep. Nancy Mace has repeatedly targeted Rep. Ilhan Omar on X across 2025 and 2026. In both documented rounds, Omar's responses drew substantially more attention than Mace's initial posts.
Round one, September 2025: the failed censure
In September 2025, Mace introduced a resolution to censure Omar. The measure failed 214-213. Omar publicly noted on X that the resolution contained no actual quote from her because, as she wrote, Mace "couldn't find any." The failed vote drew bipartisan criticism of Mace's tactics, with multiple Republican members crossing over to defeat the measure, per Axios and The New Republic.
Fun fact: Nancy Mace is trying to censure me over comments I never said. Her res does not contain a single quote from me because she couldn't find any...

Round two, March 2026: "stay off social media when you are drunk"
On March 1, 2026, Mace posted a message to X about Omar and Rep. Rashida Tlaib, offering mock "thoughts and prayers." Omar's reply, in which she told Mace to "restrain from drinking too much as you have been warned from your staff and stay off social media when you are drunk", drew significant pickup in national media, per Salon and HuffPost. The characterization that Mace had been warned by her own staff about social media use while drinking is attributed to Omar's post; Mace has not publicly addressed the allegation.
Mace's "thoughts and prayers" post (March 1, 2026):
My heart goes out to Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib tonight. Sending them thoughts and prayers.

Mace's post, which drew Omar's widely-shared response.
Omar's reply (March 1, 2026):
I hope you aren't drunk and took your staff's advice ... Please restrain from drinking too much as you have been warned from your staff and stay off social media when you are drunk. I pray in his holy month you find peace and respect for yourself.
