The Charleston airport meltdown
A police report described Rep. Nancy Mace's October 2025 outburst at Charleston International Airport as a 'spectacle'; reporting quoted her calling officers 'f***ing idiots' and 'f***ing incompetent.' A pro-Alan Wilson PAC ran an attack ad using the phrase 'She needs a therapist, not a promotion,' and CNN later released security footage of the incident.

In October 2025, according to NBC News and the Washington Post, a police report documented what it described as a "spectacle" at Charleston International Airport involving Rep. Nancy Mace. Reporting quoted Mace calling officers "fing idiots" and "fing incompetent" over a late escort vehicle. FITSNews and NBC News covered the incident extensively; CNN subsequently obtained and released security footage. A political action committee supporting Alan Wilson in the South Carolina Republican gubernatorial primary released an attack ad, titled "F-Bombs", featuring the line "She needs a therapist, not a promotion." The ad also quoted former Rep. Trey Gowdy calling Mace "apoplectic," a characterization attributed to Gowdy. Sen. Tim Scott issued a public rebuke: "It is never acceptable to berate police officers, airport staff, and TSA agents." Mace responded on social media: "REAL MEN PROTECT WOMEN." Mace has disputed the characterizations of her conduct.
