Not all of the mockery aimed at Nancy Mace comes from her opponents. At the Hibernian Hall St. Patrick's Day celebration in Charleston on March 17, 2026, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, a fellow Republican and one of the Trump administration's most senior officials, worked Mace into a roast-style joke. Per FITSNews, Bessent's reported (and, as noted below, contested) phrasing was:

"In California, Silicon Valley is where they make the computers. In South Carolina, Silicon Valley is the space between Nancy Mace's tits."

He used the same set to needle Sen. Lindsey Graham. One attendee told reporters Bessent said only "the space between her chest," disputing the cruder phrasing that ran in the FITSNews headline. The Daily Beast called the remark "crude and sexist"; People confirmed the joke with three attendees. Mace's campaign and the Treasury Department did not respond.
